We are looking to strengthen our engineering team with a Regional Discipline Lead - EICA based at Preston with hybrid working available.
You will report directly to the REL and your role will be to provide technical leadership of the discipline in region. Ensuring that the technical discipline is the right size and shape, has the correct competencies and capacity and that standard design practices are applied in region and contribute to the development of the discipline. You will also provide all regional discipline members with the opportunity to develop and progress
Key responsibilities will include:
People Management
1. Duty of care in discipline in region.
2. Training & Development Planning in discipline in region.
3. Staffing levels and personnel management in discipline in region.
4. Long term staffing/succession plans in discipline in region.
5. Staff performance reviews/PDRs in discipline.
Engineering Discipline Management
6. Application of strategic design philosophy in discipline in region.
7. Competency management in discipline in region.
8. Technical quality in discipline in region.
9. Task time requirements (estimates) in discipline in region.
10. Application of task delivery methods and toolsets in discipline
11. Allocation of best-fit, competent staff to projects in region.
12. The use of common, secure, information management systems in discipline in region
Operational Management
13. Contributing to definition and implementing technical strategy in discipline.
14. Contributing to discipline productivity.
15. Tactical technical risk in discipline in region.
16. Client relationships and service management in discipline in region.
Personal Responsibilities
