Salary Range- £65k-£70k Per Anum Dependent on experience
Your duties and responsibilities will be
Mechanical & Piping Engineering Design:
* You will be responsible for managing the mechanical and piping engineering and design aspects within a range of multi-discipline projects, from concept to execution.
Project Scope Management
* You will ensure the completion of designs in line with the defined scope, on time, and within budget. Change control and consistency between disciplines will be crucial.
Quality Assurance:
* You will oversee the quality of engineering designs, including reviewing and approving design deliverables. Compliance with industry standards and regulations (such as CDM regulations) is essential.
Collaboration with Other Disciplines
* The role involves working closely with other engineering disciplines (Civil, Structural, EC&I, Process) and ensuring coordination across disciplines.
Design Reviews & Client Acceptance
* You will lead or participate in internal and external design reviews, ensuring that designs are accepted by clients and meet their requirements.
Independent Decision Making & Technical Support
* Provide expert technical support within the mechanical engineering team and make independent decisions on design-related issues.
You will have the following qualifications & experience
* Degree-level qualification in Mechanical Engineering (BEng or MEng).
* Preferably Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with IMechE or an equivalent institute.
* At least 5 years of experience as a Lead, Senior, or Principal Engineer in multi-discipline engineering projects.
* Practical experience in mechanical and piping design, including knowledge of general engineering standards (e.g., ASME, BS EN) and IGEM standards.
* In-depth knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, mechanical specifications, calculations, and the design process.
* Experience with piping design codes (ASME, BS EN) and the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) and Pressure Equipment Safety Regulations (PESR).
* Familiarity with mechanical design software like AutoCAD, Plant3D, E3D, Caesar II, etc.
* Strong planning and organisational skills, with a focus on "one-time-right" design mentality.
* Ability to lead design review meetings and present design packages clearly and effectively.
* Strong communication skills to work collaboratively with internal teams and clients.
* Appreciation for the interdependencies of engineering activities within the mechanical discipline and between other disciplines.
* Ability to meet UK security clearance requirements (preferable).

* You’ll have the technical expertise to handle complex engineering projects and the ability to work effectively across various sectors (Oil & Gas, Energy, Nuclear, etc.).
* You will have a proactive and methodical approach to engineering design, ensuring designs meet standards and regulations while coordinating effectively with other teams.
