Pro-actively support the successful delivery of all activities taking place within the multi -purpose venue, liaising with internal and external stakeholders. Activities include but are not limited to theatre performances, conferences and meetings, Council events, museum, heritage and arts exhibitions.
Provide a high standard cleaning service throughout all areas.
What you’ll do
*
o Actively participate with the set-up, delivery and take down of theatre performances. This will include working with a team of Ushers, liaising with external theatre promoters and producers, and ensuring the optimum delivery of each event to maximise customer satisfaction and income generation.
o Responsible for recording deliveries and stocking the theatre bar, working with the Braid Duty Management team to maximise sales and profitability at all times.
o Liaise effectively with Braid Duty Management team to ensure that Reception and Box Office is operational when required, providing a warm, welcoming and efficient service to all visitors.
o Ensure the appropriate and timely set-up of all room booking requirements, including planned set-up of museum exhibitions.
o Assist the Duty Management team with set-up, clearing, and dish washing of hospitality when required throughout the Braid.
o Assist the contracted Theatre Technician with any technical set-up requirements for theatre events.
o Carry out cleaning duties throughout the interior, including operating and using mechanical and electrical cleaning equipment; as well as keeping the front and rear exteriors of the building clean, litter free, gritted and clear of snow and frost during bad weather.
o Monitor levels of cleaning equipment and materials and advise the Duty Management team when additional stock is required.
o Liaise with Facilities Management team in relation to ongoing scheduled maintenance activity or necessary emergency repair works.
o Assist the Duty Management team with the implementation of building risk assessments, and emergency evacuation and response procedures.
o Work on a rota basis to ensure appropriate cover at all times when the building is open.
o Carry out duties as an Usher for events when required.
About you
* Applicants must have a minimum of 5 GCSEs to include English Language and Maths (grade C or above) or equivalent qualifications to demonstrate literacy and numeracy
* Applicants must be able to demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, a minimum of one years’ experience ( four years’ if Academic requirement in Criterion 1 is not met) of: operational assistance in a customer facing role.
* Applicants must either hold a valid First Aid qualification or indicate willingness to participate in First Aid training.
* Applicants must willingness to work on a shift pattern across a six day week, as well as on Sundays and public holidays when required.
* Applicants must willingness and ability to respond to emergency call-outs for the building, including at unsociable times, evenings, weekends, and public holidays
