Description JOB SUMMARY Specific areas of focus include developing operationally and commercially sound food and beverage concepts, working effectively with property management teams, external designers, hotel owners and their representatives, supporting pre-opening & hotel conversions. Additional responsibilities include the development of a concept strategy based on brand and type of market and to work closely with the development team to sell our Food & Beverage concept strategy. Thinks creatively and practically to develop, execute, and implement new plans or programs. Gain a full understanding of each market where we have hotels and know our free-standing competitors as well as hotels. CANDIDATE PROFILE Education and Experience 4-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 4 years’ experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, sales and marketing, management operations, or related professional areas. OR 2-year graduate degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 4 years’ experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, sales and marketing, management operations, or related professional areas. Strong presentation and public speaking skills, exceptional project management and organizational ability with effective influencing and negotiation skills. Negotiating and deal-structuring skills (ability to influence and interface with outside contracts, primarily owners and owner reps). Demonstrated understanding and use of market research and market trend information. Able to travel up to 50% of working time. CORE WORK ACTIVITIES Key Responsibilities: Develop operational and commercially sound food and beverage concepts for EMEA region. Understand and articulate current food and beverage trends and what drives them. Build, manage and maintain an up to date library of commercial sound food and beverage concepts Develop and maintain a project tracking process to ensure all stakeholders are up to date on the progress of each project. Looks outside of Marriott to identify and implement innovations that improve business performance. Operations and generates innovative solutions to approach function-specific work challenges. Reviews product & service standards for food & beverage concepts. Manages effective partnerships with third party partners, suppliers, designers, consultants, and concept partners when applicable. Oversees proper controls to ensure that all third party vendors and consultants deliver concepts & plans in a timely fashion. Works with key stakeholders within hotel operations, technical services, design and supply management to ensure all parties assist and support the hotel F&B concepts. Ensures continuous communication and alignment with all brand management teams. The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of the position: Operations Program Design & Development-The ability to lead and/or contribute to establishing operational requirements using various inputs (e.g., market research, brand), develop content that translates to product and service specifications, such that programs can be executed in brand voice at the property level in an efficient & cost effective manner for the Engineering discipline.
