The School is situated in 35 acres of beautiful grounds in the centre of Abingdon, just south of Oxford. VisitingMusic Bassoon Teacher – The Role: Abingdon School is looking for a dedicated and inspirational visiting music teacher to join its thriving and vibrant Music Department to teach individual bassoon lessons. They will need an ability to inspire and motivate different students, understanding their individual needs and adapting to meet them. Music holds a prominent place in the life of Abingdon School with very large numbers of students taking individual music lessons, as well as participating in the school’s many choirs and ensembles and the large number of musical events which are designed to give all musicians performance opportunities. Visiting Music Teachers at Abingdon School are appointed on a self-employed basis and invoice parents directly for music tuition. The current recommended rate of charge is £54.70 per hour. Excellent facilities are available for individual music lessons on a room hire basis (in line with guidance received by the School re HMRC expectations for self-employed staff). The current charge is £2.50 per hour.
