Weston College is the regional provider for the Prison Education Framework (PEF) across the South West of England and is now seeking to recruit an outstanding and highly motivated Lecturer in Personal and Social Development at HMP Portland.
This is a part-time role, working 18.5 hours per week.
Day to day of the role
* To deliver a high-quality curriculum delivering Personal and Social Development courses.
* Developing and maintaining a full course file including comprehensive scheme of learning and lesson planning.
* Developing and completing ILPs and contextual statements to monitor individual learner progress.
* Manage learner behaviour and challenge negative behaviour appropriately, following prison processes.
Required skills and qualifications
* A degree, or professional qualification, which is appropriate to the work.
* Knowledge and experience of current teaching and learning strategies
* Highly motivated and setting high standards for self and others
HMP Portland is an adult male prison and young offender institution (YOI) on the Isle of Portland, Dorset, for men aged 18 and over.
