Company Overview
James Scott Associates is a friendly, family-run chartered surveying practice based in the heart of Blackpool, operating from a unique heritage property in the stunning setting of Stanley Park. Regulated by the RICS and proudly affiliated with CIAT, CABE, MCIArb, and the Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors, we deliver a comprehensive range of professional surveying services with integrity, clarity, and a personable approach.
We combine decades of experience with a forward-thinking, supportive, and relaxed team culture. Collaboration, development, and a sense of humour are central to how we work — we take our work seriously, but not ourselves.
The Opportunity
We’re on the lookout for a Chartered Building Surveyor (MRICS or AssocRICS) to join our growing team and play a key role in our continued success. Reporting directly to the Director, you’ll take ownership of varied instructions and have the opportunity to shape the future of the business through both your professional expertise and your mentorship of junior team members, including our assistant surveyor and placement students.
This is a diverse and rewarding role with real scope for growth and development. You’ll gain exposure across the full range of building surveying services — from professional to project-based — and never be confined to one niche. No two days are the same, and you’ll be supported to make the role your own within a practice that values autonomy, creativity, and ambition.
