Shift Lead Engineer
Salary – £63,363 per annum (plus benefits)
Hours – 40 hours per week, shift pattern (4 on 4 off, 12-hour shifts)
Location – Eastcroft, Nottingham
As a Shift Lead Engineer at FCC Environment, you will be responsible for the health and safety of all staff, contractors, and visitors to the site, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and delivering operational excellence in line with customer expectations and budget requirements. You will provide leadership to the Shift Operations Team, ensuring the efficient and safe operation of the plant.
This vacancy is for a full-time position, working a 4 on 4 off 12-hour shift pattern

What will you be doing?
•Leading and supervising the Shift Operations Team to ensure safe and compliant plant operations
•Acting as a Senior Authorised Person (SAP) and performing high-voltage switching duties
•Ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations
•Monitoring plant performance and implementing measures to improve efficiency and reliability
•Managing day-to-day operational safety and environmental performance
•Supervising operations, including plant start-ups, shutdowns, and maintenance coordination
•Conducting risk assessments and writing Safe Working Procedures
•Responding to emergencies in line with site Incident Response Plans
•Training and mentoring team members to ensure continuous development and compliance with operational standards
What are we looking for?
•Minimum ONC or NVQ, C&G Level 3 or higher in Engineering with operational/maintenance experience
•Minimum 5 years’ experience in a supervisory role within a Power Plant or similar environment
•Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations
•Leadership and team management skills
•Strong problem-solving and communication skills
•Ability to work flexibly and independently
