About the job About the job Miners Court is Coastline’s extra care living facility in Redruth, providing an integrated care and support service that promotes independence for all our customers. As a Extra Care & Support Assistant you will work with our customers to flexibly to meet their individual needs, in accordance with their care and support plans. We currently have three vacancies, a 30 hour Flexi contract, a 24 hour contract and an 18 hour contract. The hours for each position are below: 30 hour permanent Flexi contract to cover night shift, Day Centre, mornings and evenings - Rota issued 1 month in advance to include a variety of shifts, evenings, weekends and night shifts, full flexibility required as this will be covering annual leave and other absence. £13.02 per hour, increasing to £14.13 after successful completion of probationary period 24 hour contract – 2 week rolling rota Week 1 – Sat - 4pm - 10.30pm, Sun 3pm - 10.30pm, Thurs 7.30am - 5pm Week 2 - Mon - 7.30am - 6pm, Wed - 7.30am - 6pm & Fri 4pm - 10.30pm 18 hour contract – 2 week rolling rota Week 1 – Mon and Wed - 7.30am – 1.30pm Week 2 – Sat & Sun – 7.30am – 1.30pm, Tues and Fri - 4pm - 10.30pm Day to day you will: • Assist customers with all aspects of daily living and personal care including undressing, bathing and showering, and dental and mouth care; toileting, feeding, dressing and moving individuals according to agreed manual handling techniques (using the equipment/aids provided in the trained and agreed manner). • Support customers with cleaning, cooking, shopping and attending appointments as required. • Administer medication as appropriate and accurately record this as instructed. •Maintain accurate records of daily occurrences relating to the wellbeing of customers. •Complete and regularly updating care and support plans with customers What we're looking for: •You will be a kind, caring person who is understanding and patient. •You will have a positive, can-do attitude and be willing to get stuck in with any challenge. •You will be a fantastic listener and have excellent communication skills. •You will possess or be willing to work towards a level 2/3 in Health & Social Care. •You will be able to remain calm under pressure and in an emergency, with the ability to act decisively. •Ideally you will have experience in the care and support sector, but full training will be provided. •A satisfactory enhanced DBS check is required.
