Job Purpose:
As a Recruitment Officer, you will play a critical role in attracting and retaining top-tier talent for our organisation. This is a mid-level position reporting to the Head of People & Culture. This role will work closely with hiring managers in all business areas of The Outdoors Group, our Internal Communications & Employer Brand Officer and Learning & Development Officer to ensure that our recruitment strategies align with our company objectives.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement strategic initiatives for recruiting diverse talent in a multi-site organisation.
2. Work with the Head of People & Culture to carry out salary benchmarking for roles across the organisation towards creating effective recruitment strategies.
3. Partner with hiring managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.
4. Source candidates through various channels, including job boards, social media, and referrals.
5. Ensure diversity sourcing towards creating a workforce that reflects the diverse society it serves by promoting an inclusive hiring process that values varied perspectives and experiences.
6. Screen applications and work with hiring managers to interact with shortlisted qualified candidates, scheduling interviews and coordinating the interview process.
7. Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations.
8. Organise and manage Selection days working with respective business area Senior Leaders to deliver a professional bespoke experience in line with company culture.
9. Organise and attend job fairs and recruitment events to build a strong candidate pipeline along with building strong relationships with external agencies for talent pool creation.
10. Facilitate pre-employment checks, including reference checks and background checks, to ensure the reliability and integrity of new hires working closely with the People & Culture Administrator.
11. Working closely with Employer Brand & Communication Officer to implement employer branding strategies to attract high-calibre candidates.
12. Stay updated with industry best practices and trends to optimise recruitment strategies.
13. Collaborate with the People & Culture Team to ensure a smooth onboarding process for new hires.
14. Analyse recruitment metrics, like time-to-hire and employee turnover rates, to improve recruitment strategies.
15. Manage all internal recruitment processes aligning it with the company’s Equal Opportunity Policy.
16. Manage exit processes towards gaining insight on staff attrition and work closely with L&D Officer to improve retention over the long term.

* CIPD Level 5 qualification
