Job Mission
To work with the development and projects team to co-ordinate the delivery of tested systems within given timescales and assist with the resolution of system errors. Provide support and guidance to other members of the testing team.
Principal Job Objectives
1. Ensure the provision of accurate testing and verification of new system products, developments, Projects and Change Requests.
2. Review change request requirements and solutions to define testing scope.
3. Develop testing scripts and procedures to validate all testing processes.
4. Provide accurate test estimates and assist with testing resource allocation and availability.
5. Monitor, measure, control and report on test progress to IT Management and external stakeholders.
6. Input into test elements on Project Plans including test plan milestones, impacts, risks and dependencies.
7. Participate in external client meetings and liaise with clients to define end user testing and testing output requirements.
8. Conduct end-to-end test execution for Projects and adapt test plans where necessary during the Project Life Cycle.
9. Ensure testing quality control and that all testing work is carried out as per the defined standards and procedures.
10. Provide support for other members of the testing team.
11. Complete and keep up to date testing logs and issues trackers.
12. Carry out small bug fixes and helpdesk jobs.
13. Maintain documentation throughout the testing process and keep procedures up to date and relevant.
14. Identify and participate in the provision of department training as and when required.
15. Attend identified courses to improve knowledge and awareness.
16. Work with all business stakeholders on software requirements.
17. Work in accordance with OPAL’s ISO27001 and TCF policies and practices.
Essential Knowledge and Experience Required at Recruitment
1. Experience in testing various applications and services.
2. Knowledge of software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.
3. Understanding of software development lifecycle processes and best practices.
4. Minimum qualification of A’ Level standard or equivalent with at least 5 GCSEs with a minimum of grade C in Maths and English.
5. Methodical approach.
6. Ability to adapt to change with a flexible approach.
7. Working knowledge of ISA and PEP products, Life and Regular Premium Policies.
8. Good organisational and communication skills.

Pay: £27,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
