About the role
Sizewell C (SZC) is a vital part of the UK's future energy strategy. As the second of the UK's next generation of Nuclear power stations, SZC is both of high profile and high complexity. Its delivery will be reliant not only on innovative engineering and construction but also on the strongest of leadership qualities amongst its key personnel and their leadership for the completion of the construction works at Sizewell C site, as well as the supporting hubs across UK.
Avonmouth hub will become the main offsite hub for the Marine and Tunnel (M+T) portion. Starting mobilisation in 2025, this hub site will integrate the construction works for most of the precast and prefabricated elements to be delivered as permanent works for the M+T portion.
What you'll be doing
The Avonmouth Survey Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all survey activities related to the Sizewell C project that are planned to be undertaken at Avonmouth hub, Bristol. These activities include a wide range of responsibilities, from ensuring accurate and timely data collection, analysis, and reporting to support the construction process.
Setting out of the Survey Strategy at Avonmouth will be essential for the Survey manager, as well as engineering control, topographic survey, engineering surveying and setting out. The Survey Manager, as lead of the Survey Team will provide assistance to the Site Delivery Team and ensure the adequate level of collaboration and integration of the Surveyors with the operational team, as well as ensure processes are undertaken according to QA/QC and H&S standards.
Who we're looking for
1. Extensive knowledge of survey specific software and processing applications including Autodesk Civil 3D and other tools required for the successful development of the team tasks.
2. Proficient in IT (Information Technology) applications.
3. Build and maintain effective working relationships with the wider project team.
4. Experience in settlement monitoring systems, methods, and technologies.
5. Experience in geodetic requirements associated with project requirements.
6. Experience using latest survey equipment, software, and technologies.
7. Hold a full driving licence.
8. Experience in establishing GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) networks.
9. Experience in organising and managing site survey teams.
10. Creating and maintaining survey models for setting out machine control.
11. Knowledge, experience and skill of implementing up to date survey data reality capture methods.
12. Knowledge and experience of setting up local base networks and establishing connected site environments.
Desirable
1. An elevated level of understanding and experience in design, construction, and surveying within a construction environment.
2. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
3. Experience in tunnelling projects and/or precast elements is highly desirable.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
1. Hold a valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
2. SSSTS, preferably SMSTS.
Desirable
1. Relevant degree, diploma, or equivalent industry recognised qualification.
2. Member of the CinstCES or RinstCS.
