Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to manage and optimize international freight operations. This role will focus on deep-sea shipments, UK-EU, and intra-EU logistics, with a strong emphasis on Incoterms compliance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in commercial freight, time-sensitive logistics, and regulatory compliance, particularly within international trade.
It is important to note that this role will not include warehousing responsibilities.
Skills & Experience Required
1. Minimum 5 years' experience in international logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain management.
2. Strong knowledge of Incoterms 2020 and their practical application in commercial freight.
3. Experience in managing deep-sea, UK-EU, and intra-EU freight operations.
4. Familiarity with hazardous goods transport regulations (ADR, IMDG, IATA) is advantageous.
5. Excellent administration and time management skills, with a structured approach to logistics coordination.
6. Strong problem-solving ability and the capacity to handle multiple priorities under pressure.
7. Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office.
Key Responsibilities
1. Arrange and oversee commercial freight from deep-sea locations to the UK/EU and between UK-EU and intra-EU routes, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
2. Apply Incoterms 2020 knowledge to optimize contracts, shipping responsibilities, and cost distribution.
3. Work closely with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customs brokers to ensure timely and compliant deliveries.
4. Manage and comply with ADR, IMDG, and IATA regulations if applicable.
5. Ensure smooth customs clearance, correct documentation, and adherence to import/export regulations.
6. Maintain accurate shipping records, ensure processes are followed, and handle logistics paperwork efficiently.
7. Continuously evaluate and refine logistics processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
8. Provide clear updates to internal teams, ensuring all parties are informed of shipping schedules, delays, and solutions.
