Job Title: Hardware Systems Engineer

As a Hardware Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and development of new imaging and sighting systems in the Aerospace, Defence, and Life Sciences sectors. This role involves taking ownership of electronics and firmware design from concept through to production, ensuring alignment with requirements, timelines, costs, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the development of electronic solutions for electro-optical products, including FPGA, digital, and analogue hardware and software.
2. Provide electronic systems engineering from concept through to manufacturing and testing.
3. Assist with requirements capture, specification definition, sensitivity analysis, and reliability analysis.
4. Perform electronic design, analysis, and testing as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
5. Prepare presentations and reports for various project phases.
6. Support the transition from design to production.
7. Collaborate with Business Development and Engineering teams to create solutions for new opportunities.
Candidate Requirements:
1. Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (2:1 or higher).
2. Strong knowledge of digital and analogue signal processing and analogue electronics design.
3. Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout.
4. Proven ability to create technical documentation, including product specifications and user manuals.
5. Full lifecycle design experience, from initial negotiation to hardware testing and integration.
6. Autonomous working skills with the ability to collaborate in a team.
Desirable:
1. Firmware development experience (C, C++, C#, Python).
2. Familiarity with qualification standards (MIL, STANAG, ESCC/ECSS).
3. Knowledge of digital and analogue video processing.
