Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and professional individual to join our team as a Receptionist/Ophthalmic Technician. This role combines front-of-house responsibilities with assisting the clinical team in providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Greet and welcome patients in a professional and friendly manner.
2. Manage patient flow, ensuring a smooth and efficient clinic experience.
3. Answer and direct phone calls promptly and professionally.
4. Schedule and manage patient appointments.
5. Book appointments and handle appointment requests effectively.
6. Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
7. Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and welcoming.
8. Provide general administrative support to the clinic manager and team.
Ophthalmic Technician Duties:
1. Perform a range of diagnostic tests on patients, including (training provided):
* Intraocular pressure measurements
* Corneal topography
* Optical coherence tomography
* Biometry
* Focimeter
• Ideally, but not a must, prior optical experience is advantageous.
1. Assist medical staff with patient examinations as required.
2. Maintain and troubleshoot ophthalmic equipment.
3. Adhere to all relevant health and safety guidelines.
General Support Duties:
1. Answer patient inquiries and address concerns.
2. Confirm appointments and provide appointment reminders.
3. Register patients on the electronic system.
4. Assist with annual leave coverage and other administrative tasks.
5. Prepare clinic lists and patient files.
6. Perform other ad-hoc reception and support duties as needed.
Qualifications:
1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
2. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
3. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
4. Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team.
6. Professional demeanor and excellent patient care experience.
7. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
8. Ideally, but not a must, prior experience as a Patient Liaison or in a similar role would be advantageous.
9. Prior experience in the ophthalmic industry.
10. Knowledge of relevant ophthalmic procedures and terminology.
