Children Looked After (CLA) & Care Leaver Administrator
To work within a small team of administrators, nurses, and doctors based in Stevenage. The Children Looked After (CLA) & Care Leavers Health Service works in partnership with Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) Children's Services to identify the health needs of CLA and Care Leavers.
The main focus of the CLA Service is to co-ordinate the administration of health assessments on behalf of HCC for CLA and young people placed both in and out of the county to meet their health needs. The work of the team relies on other service providers completing health assessments, including CLA GPs, East & North Herts Acute NHS Trust Paediatricians in the County, and GPs/Paediatricians from other CLA health teams in other Counties.
Main Duties of the Job
1. Provide a point of contact for the CLA & Care Leavers Health Team.
2. Take messages accurately and communicate effectively and in a timely manner to team members.
3. Organise workload as agreed by the Named Nurse and Senior CLA Co-ordinator.
4. Co-ordinate and carry out complex administrative duties within the agreed CLA pathways.
5. Maintain computerised (and paper when appropriate) storage systems to meet the needs of the service.
6. Ensure all referrals for the service are recorded and referred to the appropriate person/team/clinician within Hertfordshire and across the UK, in accordance with established timeframes.
7. Identify the appropriate professional within other organisations to refer to.
8. Receive, sort, distribute, and dispatch mail. Transmit highly confidential and complex information via email to colleagues/partners and external agencies across the country.
9. Ensure that organisational policy and protocols are adhered to.
10. Participate in the finance administration process for health assessments.
11. Agree payment within National agreed Tariffs for health assessments for CLA placed out of county.
12. Prioritise own work on a day-to-day basis to ensure that timescales are achieved and deadlines met with accuracy.

Job Responsibilities

The post holder will have a pivotal contribution to make in supporting this work by providing an effective and highly confidential administrative role, coordinating and delivering accurate work to meet the timeframes agreed by Commissioners and partner agencies.
Person Specification
* Professional Qualifications and Training:
o GCSE qualifications or equivalent
o NVQ Level 4 in Business & Administration or equivalent knowledge and experience
o Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft packages including Word, Outlook, and Excel
o Fast and accurate typing skills

Salary: £24,071 to £25,674 a year (Band 3, dependent on experience)
