The Department of Medical Photography provides a comprehensive clinical and non-clinical service to NCIC. It processes in the region of 5000 requests for Clinical Illustration per annum. The Department chiefly supports the Oncology, Ophthalmology, Oral Surgery, and Dermatology directorates clinically. Non-clinical work is requested by a wide variety of Medical and Professional staff to support the presentation of their academic work. The post holder will be expected to work across sites at the Cumberland Infirmary and West Cumberland Hospital, as well as some of our satellite hospitals.
The Post holder will work as a practising registered Medical Photographer (including Ophthalmic Photography) providing a comprehensive clinical photography service for Clinical and non-clinical medical and professional staff as required.
Main duties of the job
* Work as a Medical Photographer within our small team at NCIC
* Organise and prioritise requests.
* Liaise with other Departments working flexibly to accommodate the needs as they arise.
* Maintain a current database of patient details & type of illustration for all clinical requests
* Gain the formal consent of patients prior to performing clinical photographic procedures

* Academy of Health Care Scientists Registration
* Institute of Medical Illustrators Membership
* ACHS Membership

* Broad well-developed post-graduate experience of clinical photography and videography
* Ophthalmic Photography (incl. Fluoroscein)
* Advanced digital Photography manipulation
