Ember is the UK's first all-electric coach company. We launched in October 2020 and are now running on two major routes – Dundee to Glasgow and Aberdeen to Edinburgh – with further routes launching very soon. We are at advanced stages in developing new charging hubs in Inverness, Oban, Livingston and Fort William, with many more sites in the pipeline. We’re looking for an experienced Vehicle Wrapping Operative to join the team that works across our fleet – 38 electric coaches at the moment, and growing fast. You’ll be our first vehicle wrapping specialist, and will be at the heart of the fleet preparation and maintenance team that we are building across Scotland. The ideal candidate will be energetic and confident with the passion to stay on top of the latest developments in the market. You will primarily be working with our engineering team in Dundee and spending time there, but also visiting and working at our sites right across Scotland. It's crucial that you already have hands-on experience in wrapping a variety of large vehicles using high-quality vinyl materials - and that you are looking to join a company that can match your own ambitions for growth. This is a unique challenge - Ember's coaches are used more intensively than any other electric vehicles in the world and it's very important to us that the fit and finish remains immaculate, both inside and out. Our high-end specification will need a high-end attention to detail to match, and we want to build a team around someone who will truly take pride in their work. This will mean leading a small team that wraps new vehicles as they arrive, often in batches of 10 or more, as well as an ongoing programme of vinyl repair and replacement to keep our fleet in better condition than anything else they encounter on the road. We’re looking for a natural problem-solver who will help to identify and resolve potential issues quickly, and will relish the challenge of joining a new team that will make our state of the art fleet the best-maintained in the country. Above all, attention to detail is paramount - if you are a perfectionist who loves transforming and maintaining vehicles and delivering exceptional workmanship, we want to hear from you Responsibilities As a Vehicle Wrapping Operative, you'll already know (almost) everything you need to know about vinyl wrapping, and you'll have a clear view on best practice. You'll be able to identify what further training would benefit your career, and you'll have the confidence to master new challenges as they arise. We currently have a team of five employees dedicated to fleet maintenance. You’ll form a key part of a department that brings all aspects of our maintenance in-house as we continue to grow. We use technology heavily in the business, primarily building our own software systems. You'll need to be tech-savvy, open to learning new systems and very comfortable with digital communication.
