About the role We’re setting up a new team to give us a commercial edge by revolutionising the way we do pricing and supporting our customers with the latest innovations in fintech. For example: Improved controls, capabilities and reporting for margin, profit and discounts Dynamic and personalised pricing promotions Tooling for our commercial and finance teams (including testing capabilities) Simplifying and upgrading our technology Providing ‘intelligence’ to help our customers make informed decisions about pricing and much more Ultimately the team is about providing the best prices for customers, and the maximum margin for the business. This is a new area of focus for us and is a high-profile role with huge opportunity for impact. Key responsibilities Working with your engineering team and stakeholders across the business to understand challenges, opportunities and gaps, and quickly ship improvements to software and processes that deliver positive impact on our core metrics. Discovering and documenting everything there is to know about pricing in our system and in the market, to become the domain expert and the “go-to” person liaising between commercial, supply, finance, marketing, data and technology teams. Building and monitoring the effectiveness of our pricing technology, and its impact on our commercial numbers. Collaboratively developing and evangelising a roadmap and vision for your team, based on customer needs and business opportunities and backed by data, prioritised in line with overall company strategy. Setting and tracking quarterly OKRs that are achievable and stretching, so we keep up a rapid cadence of value delivery. Contribute to the overall product management maturity at OTB, sharing your best practice and helping to improve our craft and community. About you Outstanding communication skills, being able to adapt your style and communicate technical and complex ideas to very different audiences and create excitement and momentum. A good head for numbers and analytical mindset, being able to explore datasets yourself, derive insights and see opportunities that others can’t see. Strong business and commercial sense, with the ability to strategise and balance short-term needs with long-term strategic goals. You need to be able to make trade-offs often, and clearly explain the business value that you’re delivering. Technical chops that will help you to build an effective relationship with your engineering colleagues: we have a lot of complex stuff to build and it is key that you can contribute. Ability to work in a new and ambiguous area with the personal drive and curiosity to discover the path forward and lead from the front. Bonus points for highly relevant experience Experience with pricing systems and commercial processes & tools. Experience with open banking, payments technology and fintech generally.
