Company Introduction
A Local Authority in London are looking for a Project Director to help lead a redevelopment project.
Job Responsibilities/Objectives
You will be responsible for leading a redevelopment project, overseeing the delivery of RIBA Stage 3 and the development of a full business case. You will work closely with key stakeholders, manage project risks, and ensure the project is delivered within time, budget, and quality requirements.
* Lead the delivery of the Guildhall Complex redesign, ensuring successful outcomes within the defined time, budget, and quality constraints.
* Oversee and drive the delivery of non-residential development projects, meeting the council's strategic and operational objectives.
* Manage relationships with customers and stakeholders, ensuring their ambitions are translated into delivered schemes with clear metrics and success criteria.
* Commission and produce essential information, including feasibility assessments and cost estimations, to ensure evidence-based decision-making and project affordability.
Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:
* Extensive experience in managing and delivering large-scale non-residential development projects from inception to completion.
* Proven ability to lead and manage refurbishment and regeneration projects, particularly with listed buildings or town halls.
* Strong knowledge of local authority services and the ability to navigate the processes and protocols within local government settings.
* Expertise in commissioning and contracting new partnerships, working effectively with external professionals and stakeholders to achieve project success.
* Experience in sustainability practices and driving sustainable outcomes within development projects.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with residents, the wider community, and project teams.
Desirable Skills/Experience
Although not essential, the following skills are desired by the client:
* Previous experience in the refurbishment of Grade II listed buildings or other heritage sites.
* Knowledge of managing and delivering projects in a local government or public sector environment.
* Familiarity with modern agile working practices, including the use of digital technologies to enhance project delivery.
* Experience in developing and reporting on performance measures for large-scale projects.
* A background in sustainability and energy-efficient building design or delivery.
* An understanding of the governance and regulatory frameworks associated with public sector projects, particularly within the context of urban regeneration or civic developments.
