Millfield School relies heavily on the invaluable contributions of its dedicated Community Officers, who hold an essential and esteemed role within the institution.
Combining a diverse range of engaging responsibilities, the role of a Community Officer at Millfield can be likened to that of a security guard, police community support officer, postie, and events operations personnel all rolled into one. As a Community Officer, you have the opportunity to participate in various tasks from each of these domains, making you the ultimate friendly face on our beautiful campuses in both Street and Glastonbury.
At the core of this role is the responsibility of ensuring the safety and security of our students and staff while maintaining the smooth functioning of the school. This involves engaging in high-visibility foot patrols, fostering positive relationships with students and staff, managing school deliveries, facilitating event setup and teardown, as well as overseeing the operation of CCTV and safeguarding the premises. Possessing a valid driving license is crucial for this role, and though a Security Industry Authority (SIA) license is desirable, it is not a mandatory requirement.
If you are adept at delivering excellent customer service, possess adaptability and flexibility, and excel in problem-solving, we enthusiastically encourage you to apply for this position.
Upon joining our team, you will receive a uniform and comprehensive training to equip you for your duties. This is a full-time, year-round position, working on an 8-hour rotational shift pattern, encompassing mornings, afternoons, and nights, including weekends.
