Main duties of the job
The Role
As Deputy Divisional Operations Director, you will play a crucial role in supporting the operational management and strategic development of our Division of Medicine, Diagnostics, and Clinical Support Services.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the division, ensuring efficient service delivery and optimal patient care.
2. Support the development and implementation of divisional strategies aligned with Trust objectives.
3. Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical staff to improve service quality and performance.
4. Contribute to financial management and resource allocation within the division.
5. Participate in service improvement initiatives and change management projects.

Job responsibilities
Responsible for supporting the strategic and operational leadership and management of clinical services throughout the Division of Medicine, Diagnostics, and Clinical Support Service. This involves working closely with specialty triumvirates, multidisciplinary stakeholders, and system-level partners reporting to the Divisional Operations Director and acting as a deputy in their absence.
Support achievement and performance management of all relevant KPIs, including financial and access targets alongside HR, quality and governance requirements.
To support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service, all staff are expected to act as a role model to others in all aspects of their work and consistently demonstrate Trust values.
To manage a portfolio of delegated services.
Person Specification
Education
Essential
* Knowledge and expertise across a number of subject areas.
* Evidence of recent professional development.
* Educated to relevant degree level or equivalent experience.
* Professional management qualification (NVQ level 4)/ or working towards postgraduate level or equivalent recent senior management experience.
* Master's degree in healthcare related subject or demonstrable ability to work at masters level.
* Extensive appropriate NHS management experience in a complex service organization.
* Detailed understanding and extensive experience of the operation of complex NHS services.
* Evidence of successful management of change in clinical services delivery in a complex organisation.
* HR knowledge and good experience of resolution of complex people management issues.
Desirable
* Experience of managing clinical areas.
