South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a Band 6 Occupational Therapist.
The post offers an exciting opportunity to be involved in the development of an intermediate care service as part of the pathway from acute hospitals to home, to facilitate discharges from hospitals. This aims to optimise the environment in which rehab can take place and support, where possible, patients returning to their home by optimising their levels of independence and function.
To be successful in this role you will require sound core clinical rehabilitation skills to ensure effective service delivery.
You will be a qualified and HCPC registered Occupational Therapist.
Excellent communication skills are required to enhance and develop working relations across health and social care settings. The role also requires organisational skills, enthusiasm, and commitment. You will also have the ability to problem solve and be able to respond flexibly to the changing needs of the service., This post provides an excellent opportunity for someone to develop their skills, or who already has experience of developing and setting up new services. The role brings a number of exciting factors together including working in the beautiful rural area of North Yorkshire, excellent MDT working, education and engaging service users to learn from each other. The post sits within the Community Therapy Team which is friendly and welcoming and warmly supports colleagues.
Continuing professional development is actively encouraged and regular support and supervision will be provided by a Therapist. Participation in service developments and clinical governance is also expected, for which there is good support throughout the Community Therapy Service to help you develop.

After you complete these six and a half days of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities. We also offer a range of additional in-house and externally provided courses and bitesize programmes through our Leadership and Improvement Team.
