To provide high quality teaching, to create effective learning opportunities and to enable all learners to achieve to the best of their ability.
As an Engineering lecturer your primary purpose will be to educate and inspire the next generation of engineers through high-quality instruction, curriculum development and student mentorship. You will be responsible for delivering inspiring and engaging lessons, assessing student progress and fostering practical skills and innovation. Your role will extend beyond the classroom, involving CPD to stay current in your field, collaboration with industry partners to ensure curriculum relevance and contribution to departmental initiatives. By balancing theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience and maintaining a safe learning environment, your aim will be to equip students with the skills, knowledge and problem-solving abilities needed for a successful career in engineering.
Where you will work: The new Engineering & Renewable Technologies Centre - Rhyl campus
The new centre is a hub for delivering world-class education and training for the engineering sector and will enable skills development whilst supporting the future needs of industry, including those critical to the pathways of; mechanical, maintenance, electronics, electrical, renewable energy, additive manufacturing, advanced manufacturing and the digital transformation of industry.
The new centre boasts training facilities and expertise for the renewable energy sector, including a UK on-shore and off-shore wind turbine technician apprenticeship programme, that you will be involved with on a daily basis. The department also leads on the Renewable Energy skills competition in Wales.
The new, three-floor, 2,886m² facility is packed with more than £2m worth of highly-specialised training equipment: from CAD/CAM suites, a 3D prototyping laboratory, industry CNC machine workshop and wider laboratories for; electronics, mechanical principles, robotics, PLCs, Industry 4.0, VR and AR.

Holiday Entitlement: 46 days leave per annum, including all normally observed public holidays, determined annually, and up to 5 days efficiency closure days per annum, determined annually.
Working Pattern: 37 hours per week, 835 hours annual teaching time - 24 to 26 hours teaching per week, with up to 5 hours per week working off site in agreement with manager.
