An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and experienced midwife to join our team as a Multiple Pregnancy Specialist Midwife.
This pivotal role involves leading, organising, and developing the multiple pregnancy service in collaboration with the fetal medicine team to provide high-quality, holistic, and personalised care for women expecting multiple pregnancies.

Main duties of the job
As the Multiple Pregnancy Specialist Midwife, you will:
* Take a lead role in organising, delivering, monitoring, and developing the multiple pregnancy service.
* Ensure continuity of care during the antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal periods for women with multiple pregnancies.
* Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide safe, effective, and individualised care tailored to women’s medical, psychological, and social needs.
* Communicate complex information in a clear and compassionate way to service users and their families.
* Act as a care navigator, breaking down barriers to accessing timely antenatal care and guiding women through the appropriate pathways.
* Advocate for service users while safeguarding them and their families when appropriate.
* Lead on the Twins Trust Maternity Engagement Project, submitting annual figures and completing requested data.
* Complete annual audits for the multiple pregnancy service to ensure continued quality and improvement.
* Promote health and well-being through evidence-based education and parent education initiatives.

Person specification
Education and Qualifications
* Educated to degree level or equivalent
* Current professional portfolio demonstrating ongoing professional development and further education
* Registered mentor
* Leadership knowledge or study
Experience
* Minimum of 3 years midwifery experience
* Ability to demonstrate an expert working knowledge of safeguarding and midwifery in all areas of the maternity service
* Safeguarding experience in clinical practice
* Evidence of relevant clinical update, including midwifery mandatory skills & drills and other regulatory mandatory training
* Have worked in a multi-agency approach
* Use of computerised information systems
* Experience/education in multiples pregnancy
* Involvement with clinical audit and research
Knowledge
* Knowledge of NMC rules and standards
* Knowledge of current research / reports / guidelines relating to maternity care and their implication
* Aware of current research / reports / guidelines relating to safeguarding
* Demonstrate awareness of clinical governance
* Ability to demonstrate understanding of professional accountability and clinical governance
* Involvement in participating in the production of evidence-based guidelines / policies
Key Skills
* Able to carry out the full range of midwifery skills in accordance with job description
