The role An exciting industry engagement role is available within the Composites Science, Engineering and Manufacturing Centre for Doctoral Training (CoSEM CDT). You will help to support the exploitation of outputs from the CoSEM CDT. You will work closely with students, supervisors and the University’s Research and Enterprise Development team to explore opportunities to commercialise research, managing contracts and relevant IP / legislation requirements as they arise. We are looking for someone who will take the initiative in developing productive relationships with stakeholders that have an interest in composite materials and manufacturing and through this, build a portfolio of activities for students including industry-engaged events and international placements with other universities. You will be managed within the Bristol Composites Institute Operational Team (11 members) and be part of the Faculty’s Industrial Liaison Office which is a team of 50 research administrators and project managers who meet regularly to share best practice and offer mutual support. What will you be doing? Act as the primary point of contact for all industry engagement matters in relation to the CoSEM CDT. Act as Business Development Manager for the CoSEM CDT, building relationships with key contacts within companies and other universities. Act as a point of contact for impact and commercial matters relating to relevant PhD projects. Work closely with the Bristol Composites Institute Operational team and other members of the School of CADE and Industrial Liaison Office to support the overall objectives of the team. You should apply if You have demonstrable experience of working autonomously and proactively to build effective relationships with industry which deliver tangible results. You have excellent organisation, communication, and decision-making skills. You have a proven ability to build rapport and influence.
