Record seeks a highly experienced and strategic-minded individual to join our team as the Head of Infrastructure. In this role, they will oversee our company's technology infrastructure's design, implementation, and maintenance, ensuring its stability, security, and scalability. The Head of Infrastructure will play a critical role in shaping and executing our infrastructure strategy to support our business objectives.
Record is a leading specialist currency and asset manager with $100 billion (as at 31st December 2024) in Assets Under Management Equivalent. Record’s services include currency management, sustainable finance, and asset management. Our clients are largely institutions, including pension funds, charities, foundations, endowments, and family offices.
Record’s offices are in London, Zürich, New York, Amsterdam, and Düsseldorf. The relevant team are based in the London office.
Position: Head of IT Infrastructure
Location: London, W2
Role: Full time (37.5 hours per week). Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in the London office
Line Manager: Head of Technology
Key areas of responsibility and activities:
* Develop and execute the company's infrastructure strategy to meet current and future technology needs, aligning with business goals and objectives.
* Be accountable for reporting KPIs to the Head of Technology and the Technology Leadership team, which streamlines operational efficiency and reduces manual labour with new technologies incorporated into business operations, increasing productivity and safety.
* In charge of alignment of the Infrastructure department’s goals following business objectives from the senior management.
* Manage cross-functional teams in different locations (UK on-site based, and Poland remote-based) in order to build continuous, seamless cloud and on-premise infra support.
* Office Infrastructure covering multi-locations.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, Compliance, Risk, Operations, and other business units, to ensure the infrastructure meets their needs and supports their initiatives.
* Responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company's data centres, networks, servers, storage systems, and other critical infrastructure components.
* Responsible for ensuring the efficient and secure operation of an organization's infrastructure by developing and enhancing Infrastructure policies and procedures.
* Manage relationships with external vendors, service providers, and strategic partners to leverage their expertise and ensure optimal service delivery.
* Ensure all infrastructure systems' availability, performance, and security, proactively identifying and addressing any vulnerabilities or risks.
* Drive disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
* In charge of defining access controls, encryption standards, incident response procedures, and regular security audits.
Professional Qualifications
* Ten years of experience in infrastructure management, preferably in the financial industry or a similarly regulated environment.
* Proven experience developing and executing infrastructure strategies, driving technological innovation, and delivering successful infrastructure projects.
* Strong leadership abilities with a track record of managing and developing on-site and remote teams.
* In-depth knowledge of data centre operations, network architecture, server infrastructure, virtualisation technologies, storage systems, and cloud platforms.
* Thorough knowledge of the Cloud infrastructure (Azure).
* Proficient in infrastructure security best practices and regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, PCI DSS).
* Practical experience in cloud infrastructure security.
* Process management certifications (ITIL) and industry certifications (e.g., CCSP, CISSP) are highly desirable.
