We are seeking a proactive and experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join our dynamic team and ensure a safe and compliant working environment. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining health and safety policies, conducting risk assessments, and providing expert guidance to teams across the organisation. Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure all company operations comply with current health, safety, and environmental legislation. Maintain and review health and safety policies, procedures, and risk assessments in line with legal requirements and industry best practices. Support the SLT with the ongoing review and development of policies and the HSMS. Assist management and project teams with the preparation and submission of safety documentation, including Construction Phase Plans (CPPs) and Method Statements (RAMS). 2. Site Audits and Inspections: Conduct regular planned monitoring (audits/inspections) to identify risks, compliance non-compliances, and areas for improvement. Prepare detailed reports with recommendations and follow up on actions to ensure completion. 3. Training and Development: Support management teams in the development and delivery of toolbox talks, site inductions, and specific health and safety training for employees and subcontractors. Identify training needs and coordinate external courses for personnel. 4. Incident Investigation and Reporting: Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement preventative measures. Maintain an accurate incident log and prepare reports for management and external authorities where required. 5. Advisory Role: Provide expert advice and guidance to management, project teams, and subcontractors on all aspects of health and safety. Act as the point of contact for external bodies such as the HSE, clients, and auditors. 6. Continuous Improvement: Support the development and promotion of a culture of health and safety awareness and best practice across the company. Monitor and analyse health and safety performance data, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement. 7. Contractor and Supply Chain Management: Support Project Teams with regards the review and approval subcontractor RAMS and H&S documentation. Conduct pre-qualification assessments to ensure contractors meet company safety standards. Key Requirements Qualifications: NEBOSH General Certificate (essential). NEBOSH Construction Cert (Essential) Membership of IOSH (Tech IOSH Minimum). CSCS card (Essential) Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a health and safety role within the construction or electrical services sector. Proven track record of conducting site audits, inspections, delivering training, and managing incident investigations. Skills and Competencies: Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015 and other relevant legislation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels. Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills. Competence in producing and reviewing risk assessments, method statements, and health and safety documentation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Attributes: Proactive and self-motivated with a commitment to continuous improvement. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to travel to sites across the UK, occasionally requiring overnight stays.
