Divisional Information Manager - Corporate (Band 7)
This is a key role in enhancing the quality of healthcare services by providing comprehensive analytics, insights, and intelligence across the domains of Quality, Finance, and People and Organisational Development.
This position involves the extraction, analysis, and interpretation of data to support decision-making processes and improve operational efficiency within the NHS.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of healthcare data, and the ability to communicate complex information effectively. A background in health informatics, data science, or a related field, along with experience in the NHS or healthcare sector, is highly desirable. This role is pivotal in driving data-informed decision-making and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the NHS.
Main duties of the job
1. Develop and implement robust data analytics frameworks to monitor and evaluate performance metrics related to quality of care, financial management, and workforce development. Generate regular reports and dashboards to present findings to stakeholders.
2. Collaborate with clinical and operational teams to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and trends. Provide actionable insights that inform strategic planning and operational improvements.
3. Support initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care and safety by analysing quality data and facilitating the implementation of best practices across the organisation.
Job responsibilities
1. Work closely with finance teams to understand and optimise processes to ensure efficient and effective data flows and reporting to ensure sustainable financial management.
2. Analyse workforce data to support recruitment, retention, and training initiatives. Provide insights into employee engagement and performance metrics to foster a positive organisational culture.
3. Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clinical staff, management, and regulatory bodies, to ensure alignment of data initiatives with organisational goals.
4. Play a key role in preparing reports and documentation required for CQC inspections. This includes compiling evidence of compliance, such as audit results, patient feedback, and quality improvement initiatives, to demonstrate the organisation's commitment to meeting regulatory standards.
5. Ensure adherence to data governance standards and compliance with relevant regulations, including data protection and confidentiality requirements.
6. Establish and maintain regular communication with key stakeholders from within supported Operational Division to discuss reporting requirements and progress against other deliverables.
7. Manage the Information Services Change Process for the respective Operational Division and facilitate the prioritisation of work requests.
8. Represent Information Services at key business meetings to promote the services of the team and obtain feedback on the quality of said services.
9. Provide reporting related subject matter expertise on key business / IT development projects and undertake business analysis of new requirements resulting from such work.
10. Review the efficiency of internal processes and associated technology solutions, identify and implement improvement opportunities.
11. Support the Performance Manager and Head of Performance and Information in the development of the Information Services Strategy and any major internal projects.
12. Provide cover for the Divisional Information Manager of other Operational Divisions as and when required.
13. Deputise for the Performance Manager and Head of Performance and Information as and when requested.
Person Specification
Experience
* Previous experience of working in an analytical role in the public sector.
* Previous experience of working in an analytical role in an acute NHS provider.
Skills
* Demonstrable experience of using MSSQL, PowerBI technologies to analyse and present data.
* Demonstrable use of AI and advanced technologies for data analysis.
