Main Duties
1. Management of waste contracts for clients, mostly in the midlands and Yorkshire regions
2. Line Management of on-site operation team
3. Maintain and develop client relationships with a view to maintaining and growing waste services
4. Work with Operations Director and teams in Identifying innovative opportunities for services beyond traditional waste collection
5. Maintain, monitor and develop the relationship with all relevant subcontractors
6. Work with Operations Director and teams to develop and implement strategies for service enhancement and cost savings
7. Monitoring quality and accuracy of Management Information reports produced and submitted by the MI team
8. Monitoring quality and accuracy of invoices produced and submitted by the Finance team
9. Monitoring quality and accuracy of waste data
10. Submitting and implementing strategic waste management plans in line with our client's environmental and accreditation objectives and working alongside the team and Operations Director
11. Ensuring client compliance with current and future environmental & Health and Safety regulations and legislation
12. Auditing both suppliers and clients sites
13. Ensure that contracts are run safely and efficiently to the required standard. To liaise with clients and monitor site operations if appropriate.
14. First point of contact for client queries on waste related activities
15. Attending Client meetings as required
16. Liaise with Mitie Waste Finance team to ensure debt and WIP is minimised. Where appropriate, implement action plans to reduce debt and WIP
17. Investigation and resolution of clients complaints and concerns
18. Create a positive safety culture on client sites in line with client and Mitie requirements
19. Identifying account growth opportunities
Person Specification
1. Has excellent communication, written, time management and organisational skills
2. Has the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects at once
3. Has experience in the waste industry with a working knowledge of waste and recycling best practice
4. Has experience of working with hazardous wastes and the applicable waste legislation
5. Knowledge or experience in Contract Management, Hazardous and Non-Hazardous waste management
6. Experience in Line Management of Operational shift working teams
7. Experience in handling and packaging of waste chemicals would be an advantage
8. Can communicate with people across all levels of the organisation
9. Has good presentation and planning skills
Managing Change And Customer Care Experience/skills
1. Understanding of Health and Safety practices
2. Approachable and hard working with a ‘can do' approach
3. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint & Excel knowledge is essential
