This position reports to the Director of Finance, leading a team of around 25 finance professionals in providing best in class financial control to the £4.5bn p.a. turnover Fuel business unit, along with business partnering the various Group Cost functions.
The team, based in Crewe, provides insightful management information to leadership in 11 countries as well as providing a vital control function to the business, supporting the business to grow at c.10% p.a.
Your responsibilities day to day will be...
* Run and manage the team responsible for monthly balance sheet control, overseeing over £1 billion of reported assets.
* Drive change and transformation of the Fuel accounting processes.
* Delivery of the agreed plan for A&FC.
* Own the 13-week cash flow process for Fuel, making process and accuracy improvements.
* Work with other finance teams to ensure accurate reporting and a timely close process.
* Manage the Group Cost function end to end, including Budget and performance management.
* Own the Gross Margin budget assumptions for Fuel including leading the 5 Year Budget.
* Challenge existing finance processes to drive efficiency and accuracy improvements.
* Own the statutory reporting process for the Fuel and Group legal entities.
* Act as the key point of contact for the audit process.
Experience / qualifications required:
* Qualified accountant, preferably Practice trained, with significant PQE.
* Strong track record in Financial Control, process improvement and technical accounting.
* Experience within a large, corporate finance environment.
* Experience of providing business insights to key stakeholders.
* Experience of leading a team of finance professionals.
* A highly driven individual passionate about making an impact.
* Experience of designing and implementing financial processes.
* Proven track-record of major process redesign.
* Experience of working within a fast-growing entrepreneurial business environment.
* Ability to produce board-level quality reporting and analysis.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
