The role holds responsibility for the delivery and strategic planning of best-in-class warehousing services and third-party logistics coordination to internal and external customers. This includes products, parts, equipment and fixtures etc. across multiple sites in the North West and Midlands with potentially more to follow.We are looking for someone with a substantial level of experience and proven record of delivering first class warehousing operations including, but not limited to, storage, pick & pack, parts managements, component configuration, equipment re-purposing, inventory management and control.Working closely with key operational and client facing stakeholders you will be able to quickly understand their requirements and potential solutions, effective demand planning and the implementation of the most effective and efficient practices will be key.The role sits on our Senior Leadership team and will play an integral part in delivering the overall business strategy as well as the areas specific to the role.Key to our success is a great team culture with a strong work ethic and we are looking for people who are enthusiastic, ambitious and want to be part of an exciting company.Responsibilities:• Develop a robust operational strategy for fit for purpose warehousing & logistics service, now and future, in line with overall business strategy• Review and develop most cost effective and operationally efficient working practices in line with our approach to Operational Excellence and Commercial success• Review and coordinate third party logistics partners to ensure best value service and maximum efficiency• Continually review and improve ways of working to best fit customers needs and business strategy• Ensure all direct and indirect costs are managed competently• Manage a framework of key operational metrics to monitor performance• Manage an effective forecasting process, working closely with internal operational teams• Consistently review and monitor operational models and processes in collaboration with the senior leadership team to manage risk scenarios• Provide adaptable solutions and prioritisation plans to deliver short notice requests• Develop and coach the Warehouse Operations Team directly or indirectly• Provide an issues escalation point for the Warehouse and Inventory Managers and Stock Controllers• Create, develop and implement an effective KPI model for all Warehouse personnel• Escalation point for warehouse related queries for internal & external customers• Consistently review and monitor the warehouse team’s performance to ensure operational and commercial success for the department• Knowledge share with Senior Management to ensure best practice across the businessWhat you'll need:• 3 years’ experience of leading fast moving warehousing operations• A customer centric, solutions focused approach• An evidenced record of successfully delivering relevant warehousing solutions• Ability to work to short deadlines and regularly changing priorities• Strong and effective communication including verbal and nonverbal• Exceptional organisation with an attention to detail• Driven to meet deadlines in line with compliance• Strong commercial and financial acumen with an analytical mindset• Effective engagement skills and an ability to influence various stakeholders• Confidence and ability to build relationships• A team player and willingness to get stuck in• Be a proactive and clear thinker who finds solutions under pressure and develops effective strategic plans• Flexibility to manage and adapt to fast-paced change and the challenges that brings.• Resilience and positive attitude in challenging situations.• A robust decision maker who can quickly find and analyse facts to make quickly decisions• Excellent with IT particularly in Microsoft Office.Desirable:• Full clean driving licence.• A background in a fast-moving service industry• Experience in customer facing project management.What’s next?If you love a challenge where no two days are the same, please send your CV and tell us why you should be our next 100%’er.No agencies please
