Junior Procurement Buyer
Contract Type: Permanent role, 39 hours a week
Reporting to: Procurement Business Partner
Location: Hybrid role with 2 days in our Handforth office each week
Salary & Benefits: £28K-30k per annum, plus comprehensive benefits offering.
About your role:
This position will play a key role in delivering value from Goods and Services Not for Resale (GSNFR) spend, the things that make our jobs easier to do every day, by supporting procurement activities in categories of spend, and providing commercial and contract management insight and administration.
The focus of the Procurement team is to collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure we understand business requirements, find the right suppliers that align with business strategic objectives, get the right deals with those suppliers, and build relationships with suppliers to make sure we get what we expect and continue to improve and ensure our business and that our brand is safe from harm.
The role will have a responsibility to manage routine procurement activity, alongside supporting procurement business partners to build and develop more complex category plans, engage with stakeholders and support supplier relationships. This role will take the lead on procurement administration along with supporting in maintaining a view of all indirect procurement contracts.
About your responsibilities
In this role, to achieve the overall above purpose, you will:
* Provide support and insight to the Procurement and Legal teams regarding contract, supplier and spend data
* Take the lead on procurement administration, such as New Line Forms, Supplier Onboarding
* Support Procurement Business Partners in providing visibility into their respective upcoming contracts, enabling the procurement team to take a proactive approach with key stakeholders across the business
* Monitor and manage progress against targets to ensure delivery on time and to expectations and credibly communicate progress and actions needed to stakeholders across the business and Procurement Business Partners
* Identify commercially sensible, and build support for, opportunities for PAH to aggregate volumes and scope to deliver value as part of annual planning process and ongoing in complex categories
* Provide insight that will help to support Procurement Business Partners to identify opportunities to align across categories and the business
* Support in the management of vendor onboarding and supplier relationship management
* Identify, manage and escalate supplier and delivery risks to Procurement Leads
About You - knowledge, skills, and experience
* High level of organisational skills, with the ability to bring together large volumes of data and share them back to key stakeholders
* Ability to communicate effectively within and outside the organisation, as well as a keen attention to detail
* Confident using and applying Microsoft Office, in particular Microsoft Excel
* Understands and is an advocate for diversity and inclusion both within our organisation and across our supplier network
Desirable, but not essential:
* Ideally background is large Retailer or multi-site organisation
* Experience and an understanding of procurement processes and the contract management lifecycle would be beneficial
* Experience using SAP or other similar software
