Job Overview TE Connectivity's Materials Planning Teams are responsible for the plans, schedules, and monitoring of the movement of material through the production cycle. They determine quantity and order date for materials to meet production or engineering schedules, initiate purchase or production requisitions compliant with supply agreements, and develop the schedule to be used in the production facility based on forecasts and historical analysis. The Team develops specifications for new contract orders as well as forecasts and plans for labor requirements. They provide timely and accurate input on supplier performance and may be asked to participate in higher level supplier performance reviews with the strategic sourcing team. They also monitor cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value. Your responsibilities - Responsible for maintaining rolling orderbooks for customer requirements, ensuring plans are kept up to date and customers notified in advance of any changes to order - Responsible for monthly & quarterly billings & inventory targets for assigned GPL - Ensure a material and capacity feasible production plan is set to ensure customer orders are fulfilled on time to their requirement. - Review and resolve mid to long range schedule conflicts ensuring supply balance and improved inventory, raising any supply issues or escalations - Responsible for the introduction and management of drawing changes throughout the supply chain. - Ensure all production bill of materials are accurate and reflect the latest drawing issue. - Update materials plan in preparation for the weekly Plan Execution meeting - Liaise with Production Scheduler on any changes to the production or materials plan. - Review periodically MOQs, lead-times and safety stocks with Procurement, manufacturing and adjust where appropriate. - Attend daily PIM meetings, weekly Plan Execution meetings with supervisor's and management when required - Act as the key planning team point of contact for your products, manage all internal customer calls, and determine what action to take and communicating information as required to the rest of the team. - Be responsible for control of inventory levels; depending on demand to ensure sufficient stock is available while at the same time ensuring an optimum stock turn through effective planning. - Receive requests for expedites from the customer care organization and decide on appropriate action to meet the needs of our customers. - In the event of product supply issues determine priorities, liaising as required with other internal functions, e.g. product management and customer service group. - Maintain excellent communications with the customer service organization and, in the event of changes to the plan for their orders, ensure they are fully informed on their order status and any changes for delay. - Respond to customer order requests utilizing ERP and communications system - Oversee production schedules in order to hit or exceed targeted STS and STR delivery goals - Address new customer orders, expedites, change orders, and early warnings - Action Planner backlog daily - Evaluate Planned Orders to create suitable productions schedules. - Estimate the amount of material to be used in the production schedule (Clear-to-build). - Monitor material supply flow and identify any shortages or bottleneck in usage. - Monitoring and creation of deliveries per Customer needs (Customer Requested Date).
