Logistics Account Manager
Location : Leighton Buzzard
Salary Basic £45k - OTE - £55K
Hours - Full time - Monday - Friday
The main purpose of the position is to be the business lead on ensuring vehicles are collected swiftly from the UK network of Dealerships in to the Leighton Buzzard preparation facility, alongside orchestrating a seamless delivery of New Cars to end users supporting some of the top FN50 manufacturers deliver exceptional delivery and hand over experiences.
Alongside this, ensuring the outsourcing of excess vehicle collection and delivery volume for the client and sourcing of C&D work where needed. The aim of the role is to reduce inefficiency, maintain profitability and to support our clients SLA’s.
On a daily basis you will facilitate a complete end to end solution, taking overall ownership of any outsourced job from placement of order to final payment, and ensuring compliance to SLA’s
You will ensure that we deliver a class leading solution, through due diligence, operating best practice, and providing excellent external/internal customer service, happiness, and ease of transaction.
Reporting to the Account Director, this is role is predominantly based from Leighton Buzzard and may require travel to customer sites as required by the needs of the business. There is a possible potential of WFH 1 day a week subject to business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* To develop and build external relationships with third party logistics providers.
* Follow agreed on boarding process for new third-party logistics providers.
* To work with the customer service account management team to maximise opportunities from within our existing client base to generate required work to minimise operational gaps.
* Negotiate best rates for work, working to budgeted guidelines.
* Monitor volume levels and proactively outsource any work that may be at risk of failure or outside of agreed customer SLA’S.
* Ensure data base protocol is always followed.
* To support all administration requirements including the timely uploading of POD’s.
* To manage all external third-party enabler platforms.
* Mange the SLA of third-party logistics providers to ensure a seamless solution for our clients and support the high standard of customer service.
* Interaction with all business units across the group as appropriate, and when required to demonstrate expertise and value of the product and service.
* Support team Initiatives.
* Carry out any other duties as deemed reasonable.
* Ensure all HSE processes and policies are adhered.
* Build and lead the Logistics Team
* Continue to develop and head improvement systematically
Required Skills/Knowledge
Must have logistics experience.
Must have the ability to negotiate and be commercially aware.
Strong communicator and inter personnel skills.
Must be able to work in a proactive manner
Excellent IT Skills
Must display a highly diligent and methodical approach to time management and working practise.
A good geographical knowledge of the UK
Good problem solving skills
