Cooper Lomaz are currently exclusively working with a growing and well-established organisation in the Technical Engineering space, with clients in the Medical, Gaming, and commercial hardware industries. Our client is seeking an Area Sales Manager to help drive their global sales team based in Sandy Bedfordshire, where you will be working with US and UK-based clients.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a space where our client is well recommended. You will be responsible for the profitable development of sales within a defined territory, in line with company objectives and growth targets. The successful candidate will join a small but established team of sales, service, and engineers, generating and developing existing sales opportunities with new and existing customers, from global blue chips to technology start-ups.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Generating and developing sales opportunities with new and existing customers.
2. Closing sales and achieving sales targets.
3. Managing customer opportunities for bespoke capital equipment within the semiconductor industry.
4. Facilitating customer requests for high-value, bespoke systems.
5. Preparing detailed technical quotes.
6. Handling tenders and understanding contractual negotiations, both commercial and technical.
7. Project managing customer liaison during lengthy sales cycles.
8. Producing PowerPoint presentations to support sales activities.
9. Sales forecasting.
10. Assisting with managing the company's marketing activities.
11. Attending exhibitions and trade shows.
12. Networking at industry events.
13. Developing a strong network of agents, representatives, and distributors.
Requirements:
1. Experience of selling bespoke equipment within a technical market.
2. Electronics experience.
3. Knowledge of the capital equipment sales process.
4. Degree educated or equivalent technical qualification.
5. Strong interpersonal presentation skills.
6. Excellent communication skills at all levels.
7. Multi-tasking abilities.
Desirable:
1. Semiconductor or technical industry experience.
2. Working with agents and/or distributors.
3. Experience within a manufacturer of technical products.
4. Long sales cycles.
5. High value/low volume system sales.
6. Test and measurement experience.
7. Precision or scientific instrumentation.
8. An appreciation of the semiconductor manufacturing process.
