About the Role
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Electrician to join a dynamic team near Truro, Cornwall. This role involves maintaining, installing, and improving electrical systems across the site, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and supporting the sites overall operations.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise and a commitment to upholding health, safety, and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out routine inspection and maintenance of electrical equipment across the site.
Ensure all installations and operations comply with mechanical/electrical specifications and site layouts.
Troubleshoot breakdowns and maintain adequate spare parts for plant and equipment.
Support the Site Manager in ensuring health, safety, and environmental compliance.
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to coordinate technical support and resources.
Prepare specifications for the purchase of equipment and materials as required.
Assist with coordinating deliveries of materials, plant, and equipment.
Supervise and collaborate with technicians, workers, and subcontractors on-site.
Conduct site tours, raise safety concerns, and help resolve issues promptly.
Assist in managing site operations during weekend rotations as agreed with the Site Manager.
Maintain documentation, support testing activities, and ensure compliance with safety codes.
Essential Qualifications & Training:
NVQ or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
Asbestos Awareness (UKATA/NDTG/ARCA/ACAD)
First Aid at Work (3-day)
SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme)
Forklift/Telehandler Certification
MCERTS Awareness
COSHH Awareness
Working at Heights
Confined Space (Medium)
Manual Handling
Fire Marshal
Legionella Awareness
Environmental Awareness
CITB HSE Operators Test
PASMA - Tower
Desirable Qualifications & Training:
CSCS Card
Temporary Works Awareness
Mechanical Training (NVQ)
Slinger/Signaller
