Lead Maintenance Engineer
An outstanding opportunity is now available for an experienced Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer, to take a lead role in the engineering and maintenance department. This key individual will report directly to the Engineering Manager and will be a solution provider for high level or complex equipment failures and breakdowns.
Job Purpose:
Lead technical/engineering tasks on site, both electrical and mechanical. Assist with breakdowns and complex issues that shift Maintenance Technicians find challenging. Also assist with continuous improvement and small project work. Writing risk assessments and safety operating procedures within the Engineering department. Support the Engineer Manager with the day to day running of the Maintenance Department.
Job Description
As the Lead Engineer your duties and responsibilities will vary based on the Company's requirements but will include:
1. Support the day-to-day maintenance of the site and assist the Engineering Manager with coordinating the safe and efficient operations of the site in accordance with health and safety and legislative requirements.
2. Carry out risk assessments of routine maintenance procedures and unplanned works.
3. Support shift engineers with day-to-day challenging tasks and look to resolve in a timely, effective manner.
4. Assist with maintaining the stores and ensuring the correct critical spares are kept in stock, and replace parts as required at all times.
5. Liaise with external contractors and review RAMS prior to work commencing, ensuring that all permit-to-work documents are completed to the required standard.
6. Be competent in both electrical and mechanical principles.
7. Use PLC Control and understand machine data networks.
8. Read mechanical and electrical schematic diagrams.
Person Specification
* High volume manufacturing experience to include continuous processes and batch processes.
* Significant experience of working with a maintenance background.
* Experience in electrical and mechanical fault finding.
* Planned maintenance systems and procedures development experience.
* Proven continuous improvement skills.
* Analytical and detailed approach to problem solving.
* Apprentice trained Electrical Engineer with Mechanical & Electronical / PLC skills.
* 17th / 18th Edition qualification.
* Experience and knowledge of delivering CI activities.
* Numerical ability to record, interpret, and analyse key process data.
* Able to meet deadlines, deliver KPIs, and successfully manage multiple projects.
* Ability to understand advanced instruction on complex equipment.
Desirable
* Experience in Plant Bakery and Food Blending Equipment.
* Experience within DSEAR/COMPEX/ATEX would be desirable, but not essential as training will be given.
