Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a Band 3 Health Care Assistant working 24 hours per week based in Flintshire. The Community Resource Team ethos is to focus on supporting patients home earlier from hospital with an individualised package of care to meet their needs. The hours of work are variable, covering from 8am to 10pm and will include weekend working and Bank Holidays. The geographical area of cover is across the County of Flintshire to support service need. We are looking for candidates with a strong work ethic to provide an excellent standard of care with the right values for this role. Full induction into the post will be supported and there are great opportunities for career advancement and the opportunity to develop additional skills such as venepuncture and recording of patient clinical observations following training and competencies. Main duties of the job The Health Care Assistant role will include assisting patients who need care and support to remain independent in their own homes with activities of daily living such as washing and dressing, meal preparation and prompting with the administration of medication. The role involves working in partnership with the dynamic multidisciplinary team and external agencies to meet individuals' needs. The post holder will function as part of the Integrated Multidisciplinary Community Health Care team. He/she will be responsible for carrying out designated work, much of which will involve direct patient care. This care will be delegated by trained staff and the post-holder will be expected to work under the indirect supervision of trained staff. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
