Let us introduce the role AWE is currently recruiting for a Senior Inventory Specialist for the Logistics and Transportation Group This role is ideally suited to a driven and focused individual with a background in Material Management and Quality Assurance who enjoys working in a challenging but rewarding environment. Working within the Logistics and Transportation Group the successful candidate will be required to design, maintain, and promote inventory assurance procedures, to manage a variety of inventories and components that are critical to the business or MOD owned assets. In addition to supporting the program for delivery of the nuclear deterrent AWE is looking for highly self-motivated individual that has proven inventory and quality assurance skills to drive our business forward. We do need you to have the following: Experience of quality assurance and auditing internal processes and procedures Experience in working in a fast-paced multi-functional Logistics environment Excellent organisational and communication skills to promote Logistics policies and standards whilst driving sound behaviours across the business Focus on delivery with an exemplary attention to detail ensuring our inventories and storage are professionally managed and compliant Experience in working in an environment fulfilling demands from internal and external customers Whilst not to be considered a tick list, we would like you to have experience in some of the following: Working in a Ministry of Defence environment Excellent IT skills and experience in all Microsoft packages and Warehousing and Inventory Management Systems You will need to have the ability to work calmly and constructively in a priority changing environment and be able to manage your own workload. Key Accountabilities: Develop and maintain quality control programs, procedures, and ways of working to ensure effective inventory control, in-line with company standards and external regulatory requirements Ensure all Logistics documentation for inventory and assets are in date and compliant Maintain the Logistics Group intranet pages and CMS Company Management System Influences other inventory leads to ensure material is accounted for using corporate systems and processes, and policy is being met Measures and reviews internal processes for inventory and asset control Responsible for the management and upkeep of Logistic Service Levels Agreements Develop and establish process improvement measures Develop and implement inventory control procedures Oversees any administration including report generation, verifying computer counts against physical inventory and purchase orders to ensure accurate inventory and asset count Engaging and inspiring colleagues, promoting a diverse and inclusive environment that encourages them to seek opportunities for continuous improvement and personal development. Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security, and quality and be a great collaborator Key Responsibilities: Maintains stocktaking programme procedures for all stock held in Logistics facilities Oversees any administration including report generation, verifying computer counts against physical inventory and purchase orders to ensure accurate inventory count. Liaison and lead for all external visits for audit/stocktake, independent host. Develop and maintain quality control programs to ensure each inventory adjustment is consistent with company standards. Including researching and finding root causes of inaccuracies and discrepancies discovered by audit, cycle counts and negative quantities. Maintains a working relationship with corporate finance department and internal/external auditors to provide inventory transactional research. Measures and reviews internal processes for inventory control. Ensure all Logistics documentation for inventory is in date and compliant. Deliver continuous improvement and change through innovation.
