Main duties of the job A fellow post in the sub-specialty of Retina, with the main focus on medical retina and general ophthalmology is available at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS. This post is based at Buckinghamshire Hospitals NHS Trust (Stoke Mandeville, WycombeGeneral and Amersham Hospitals in Buckinghamshire) and is for a permanent post. Our hospital is in an area of outstanding natural beauty and within easy reach of London and the Midlands. The successful applicant will have opportunity in training in the clinical management of Medical retina patients with clinical work-up and decision making in the out-patient setting, emergency clinics, AMD one stop clinics and laser clinics. For candidates seeking training recognition through the new Portfolio Pathway (previously known as CESR), some clinics can be adjusted to accommodate other subspecialties such as neuro-ophthalmology, glaucoma, cornea, oculoplastic This will be subject to department clinic capacities at any of the three sites. This is not a surgical post. We can explore the possibility of access to supervised lists with departmental agreement on an individual basis. Supervision of junior trainees and other colleagues within the department will be required depending on appropriate candidate experience.
