Clinical Coder
Location: Maidstone, Kent (Remote with 2–3 days on-site initially – support with expenses provided)
Contract: 14 – 18 month Fixed Term Contract | 37.5 hours per week
About the Role
We’re looking for a highly skilled, Accredited Clinical Coder to join our team at KIMS Hospital, Kent’s largest independent hospital. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a growing and supportive team in a busy healthcare environment.
With approximately 1,000 inpatient episodes per month (average length of stay: 2–3 days), you’ll play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely clinical coding for both NHS and private patients.
About Us
KIMS Hospital specialises in a range of medical disciplines, with Orthopaedics as our primary focus. We also provide services in Gynaecology, General Surgery, and other specialties across our main hospital and three external sites. Our facilities include state-of-the-art technology, robotic surgery, and a High Dependency Unit (HDU).
Key Responsibilities
* Accurately code NHS referral patients.
* Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure comprehensive coding accuracy.
* Use Compucare (PAS) and Medicode (Encoder) systems to manage coding data.
What We’re Looking For
* Accredited Clinical Coder with up-to-date Clinical Coding Refresher Course attendance.
* Minimum of 2 years post-ACC qualification.
* Experience in both private and NHS hospital coding.
* Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
