Due to continued growth, our client, a growing and well-established business with an enviable client portfolio, is looking for a qualified finance professional to join them as Financial Controller.
Your new role
Reporting into the MD, your role will be varied and responsibilities will include:
* Contributing to the financial strategy of the business and being pivotal in the development of all internal control policies and procedures.
* Providing the leadership team with appropriate management information to understand the performance, risks, and opportunities of the business.
* Ensuring all financial & business systems are fit for purpose, maintained, and can identify potential areas for improvement.
* Managing all accounting operations including invoicing, cost accounting, AP, inventory, cash management, and revenue recognition.
* Budgeting & Forecasting: Coordinating and managing the preparation of the annual budget, monthly forecasting, and reporting on variances to identify risks and opportunities to aid decision-making.
* Financial Reporting: Preparing and publishing monthly financial statements to the Leadership Team, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting and legal standards.
* Regulatory Compliance: Coordinating the preparation of regulatory reporting of VAT, CIS, PAYE, and any other requirements.
* Month End and Year End Close: Managing and supporting the close processes, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately and timely recorded and reported.
* Payroll Management: Managing the payroll process, currently outsourced, to ensure employees are paid correctly and transactions are recorded accurately.
* Supporting the leadership team with financial strategy and decision-making to ensure the financial health and operational success of the business.
* Leading a team of direct reports to ensure delivery of insightful financial performance, providing effective KPIs and mix analysis to drive out inefficiencies.
* Systems implementation.
* All aspects of cost accounting and profitability analysis.
* Project accounting.
* Extensive liaison with key stakeholders and project managers across the business to provide insights supporting strategic decision-making.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be an ambitious qualified accountant with previous experience in a similar role and possess strong systems implementation experience. Furthermore, you will have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills and demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset.
