Working hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday Duration: 12 month fixed-term contract Location: Gloucester About the role Benefact Group are looking for a Document (Documaker) Developer to join our Gloucester office, with hybrid working. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about technology and eager to learn on the job to join our Group Technology development team on a 12 month fixed term contract. You would gain insight into practices and processes on a variety of projects in order to deliver business value and benefit, as well as working as part of the larger transformational project to replace our core General Insurance system. As a Document Developer you will work alongside other developers to apply changes to our General Insurance Systems (specifically Documaker) in order to meet business priorities and legislative changes to documents. You will work alongside your Systems Development Manager, liaise with Business Analysts, Project Managers, Business Stakeholders and Business users on larger more complex changes. (Training is provided). We need a document developer with excellent attention to detail to join our team to help deliver our challenging business priorities by supporting and developing the core insurance platform. It's not all about the technology (though we do enjoy it) - it is all about the customer and collaborating with our co-workers to deliver something of enduring and sustainable value. We'd like you to help us to do that. Key responsibilities The job is a mix of business-as-usual and project work, with an ever-changing balance between the two. It involves configuration and customisation, and it requires a lot of interaction with the IT teams, business analysts, and the wider business. You will have the chance to enhance your skills, receive training, and develop your expertise across various systems within a complex and dynamic environment. Training will be provided to support your growth and development. We have a number of maintenance and development projects which need to be live over the next few years, and you will play a key role in helping us to achieve this with a positive, can-do approach and attitude which promotes the right culture and behaviours. Knowledge, skills and experience Essential skills: Excellent attention to detail. A demonstrable interest in technology and development, whether that is gained through studies or work experience. Ability to communicate to business representatives, suppliers and customers, and other areas of IT - including presenting on areas of expertise to small groups. Ability to interpret business requirements and define appropriate solutions. Able to work alongside other developers for the delivery of detailed and complex tasks and complete small projects, taking responsibility for estimating effort, and ensuring quality delivery of entire pieces of work. Displays innovative thinking when establishing solutions to problems, going outside of existing skill sets when necessary. Desirable skills & experience (but not essential): Documaker or equivalent enterprise level documentation platform. Experience in Systems Architecture and Design. Experience in providing IT 3rd level application support. Understanding of insurance processes, terminology and compliance implications desirable. Recommend change to the strategic direction of technology. Ability to take presentational lead at meetings. A willingness to demonstrate continuous improvement by using existing skills/talents as well as developing new skills. The ability to be resourceful, self-sufficient and to work independently as well as in an established team.
