The Uehiro Oxford Institute (UOI) is seeking to appoint an Institute Manager to support the inaugural Director in the delivery of the Institute’s strategic aims and in developing strategic and financial plans, a governance framework, and the operational procedures required for this new academic entity. The UOI has ambitious plans for growth over the next five years, and this is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to lead and support the implementation of these plans. This post is fixed-term for five years in the first instance.
This is a complex and challenging position offering a significant development opportunity. This position requires strong experience in financial and personnel management to support a period of rapid growth and change during this startup phase. The successful candidate will also require strengths in governance, relationship management, and a firm understanding of academic and research administration within the context of the wider University.
In addition to a good honours degree or equivalent, and evidence of strong intellectual capability, the successful candidate will have:
1. Extensive experience of working at management level in university administration;
2. Considerable experience of personnel management involving a diverse workforce;
3. Planning and project management skills;
4. Excellent analytical and organisational skills;
5. A proven ability to handle and prioritise a complex portfolio of responsibilities and projects in a challenging and fast-moving environment;
6. Excellent skills in written and oral communication.
