Gartner for Sales Leaders, Large Enterprise Business Development Executive
Gartner for Sales Leaders is hiring for a growth-focused Business Development Executive to join their high-performing team! CSOs are grappling with many challenges heading into 2025 that Gartner can help with, including questions such as “How do we make the right investments and changes to the organization?” and “How do we achieve consistent results while managing multiple (often overlapping) sales transformations?”
In 2025, Gartner predicts that CSOs must prioritize collaboration between sales and marketing, unify commercial strategy, and make the right investments to ensure their salesforce is successful.
Gartner’s sustained double-digit growth has been propelled by our world-class Business Development function. Our Business Development Executives engage with C-Level stakeholders within Large Enterprise organizations as individual contributors with personal targets based on new revenue.
About this role:
Our Business Development teams play a critical role in expanding Gartner’s presence across the global market. Gartner Business Development Executives strategically acquire new clients by cultivating trust-based relationships with C-level executives to understand their mission-critical priorities and uncover opportunities to deliver client value through the lens of their industry. They drive the full sales cycle, from identifying prospects to closing and transitioning new accounts to the account management team.
Business Development Executives will be given a territory of Large-Enterprise prospects, which may include completely new prospects or clients within other Gartner areas. Clients of the Large-Enterprise sales teams have +$1 billion in annual revenue.
What you will do:
* Seek out and drive new business opportunities with new-to-Gartner organizations across your territory, from initial client outreach to close, targeting Large Enterprise organizations.
* Convert viable prospects into active Gartner clients, owning the full sales conversation and negotiation, through to the transition of new clients to the account management team.
* Build a pipeline of high-quality opportunities to deliver against your sales metrics, ensuring KPIs are met.
* Quota responsibility for your assigned territory.
* Manage complex high-revenue sales across matrix and diverse business environments.
* Own forecasting and account planning on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis.
What you will need:
* 5+ years’ B2B sales experience, preferably within complex, intangible sales environments.
* Business development or new-client acquisition experience in a selling role is highly desired.
* Experience selling to and/or influencing C-level executives.
* Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
* Proven ability to precisely manage and forecast a complex sales process.
* Willingness to travel as needed.
