Project Co-ordinator - Godalming Summary INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY PLEASE We’re looking for a Project Co-ordinator to support the team at Munstead Wood, Godalming, This is a fixed term contract ending October 2025. What it's like to work here The Project Co-ordinator will report to the Project Manager and be a very active part of a well-formed team. Our hybrid model sees us all together on site each Monday and Wednesday with the operations team and a large external professional team of built environment specialists. The pace is fast and the project complex, we need an organised teammate to keep track of the details, help complete the design stage and our passage through governance to Gate 1 approval. This is an exciting opportunity to step up into a project at an early stage, National Trust doesn't often acquire new properties. Munstead Wood is a special place to work, so if you would like to join our team 3 days a week for spring and summer 2025 then we welcome your application. You’ll be part of the Trust’s internal consultancy: a flexible resource of specialist skills and expertise. As one of a multidisciplinary team of experts, including curators, fundraisers, building surveyors and project managers, you’ll be working with others to help make things happen. Your contractual place of work will be the National Trust office at Munstead Wood. Our hybrid working policy means you can balance office and home working with site visits and meetings at other National Trust places. We’ll talk about this in more detail at interview, but you should expect to be at a National Trust site for 40–60% of your working week. Munstead Wood was the home and workplace of Britain's foremost female gardener, Gertrude Jekyll. Jekyll designed the, then revolutionary, 15-acre woodland and gardens and co-designed the Grade 1 listed mansion with the then unknown architect Edwin Lutyens. This collaboration spawned over 400 gardens, changed the way domestic gardens looked and launched the career of Lutyens. What you'll be doing You’ll be responsible for supporting the project to reach its next milestone, Gate 1. This will include organising meetings, and keeping an eye on budgets, PMF and schedules. You’ll champion open and productive communication, record-keeping and administration, while always being willing to get stuck in and help practically with the project when needed. National Trust acquired Munstead Wood from private ownership in 2023 and the team is at Stage 1, designing the operating model and the change project to deliver the proposition that will see us as a centre of excellence for horticultural education for the next century. You’ll work alongside the senior leadership team and others to make sure the project runs smoothly, reporting regularly to your line manager. By building strong relationships, you’ll help all members of the team to work at their productive best towards achieving the ambitions of the project. Who we're looking for We'd love to hear from you if you’re: used to co-ordinating projects and working as part of a project team flexible and people-focused, with a background in giving a great service to clients and colleagues alike highly organised, with a strong attention to detail adept at writing and communicating, with excellent IT skills happy to work alongside volunteers and able to support them to perform at their best comfortable with multi-tasking, and working with a variety of people a good team player.
