We’re looking for a Sustainability Manager (12-month parental leave cover) to help us deliver on our sustainability team’s (the M-PACT team) strategy. We’ve already made good progress in this space and now have some critical projects to complete over the next few years.
Reporting into the Head of Communications and Sustainability, this role will be accountable for executing our sustainability (M-PACT) strategy, meeting all reporting requirements, sharing progress to relevant teams as required, and managing our Senior Sustainability Analyst. Our ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude and an entrepreneurial mindset when it comes to solving business challenges.
The Role You Could Play
* Delivering MECCA’s sustainability (M-PACT) strategy and associated project plans.
* Introduce systems to gather data to measure impact and performance, and ensure timely, transparent and accurate inputs to meet all internal and external reporting requirements.
* Manage the delivery of our M-PACT projects to ensure they are on-time, on budget and meet stakeholder expectations.
* Develop methods of regular reporting to key stakeholders across key working groups.
* Review performance against stakeholder expectations, scan for gaps, and provide advice and solutions.
* Develop and manage relationships with stakeholders at all levels, both inside and outside the business.
* Proactively engage with internal and external stakeholders to listen and understand needs and deliver on requirements in a way that adds value to the business and stakeholders.
* Collaborate with the business to co-create, plan and deliver valuable programs to meet both sustainability strategy targets and business objectives.
* Create compelling and engaging written and visual content to raise awareness and build support for MECCA’s M-PACT vision and objectives.
* Help coordinate and deliver communication activities that respond to MECCA’s strategic reputation objectives.
* Manage sustainability (M-PACT) content on the website, intranet and other key channels.
What You Will Bring
* Bachelor's degree in sustainability, business, communications or a related field.
* Proven experience in developing and executing sustainability strategies that align with business objectives.
* Proven track record of making sound, evidence-based decisions in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent communication skills to engage and influence internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and regulatory bodies.
* Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive sustainability initiatives.
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, meeting deadlines under pressure.
* Skilled in budgeting, resource allocation, and team coordination.
* Strong ability to analyze complex data and translate findings into actionable insights.
* Experience in tracking and reporting sustainability performance metrics.
* Preferable: In-depth understanding of sustainability issues within the cosmetics and retail industries, including packaging, supply chain, and carbon footprint reduction, as well as familiarity with relevant environmental legislation, regulations, and certifications.
