The de Ferrers Academy
The de Ferrers Academy is part of Affinity Learning Partnership, a Multi Academy Trust currently based in Staffordshire and Derbyshire, consisting of 3 Secondary Academies and 4 Primary Academies.
Following a decade as a specialist Technology College, de Ferrers became an Academy in January 2011 and has since grown into a large, split-site, co-educational institution catering for students aged 11-18.
Excellent funding has allowed the Academy to enhance resources and equipment, widely promoting the use of new technologies, including digital projectors and flat-screen TVs in all curriculum areas, with over 500 computers and laptops across all sites.
Our vision is to ensure that all children and young people in our care have the opportunity to fulfil their potential through achieving highly, regardless of their ability or background.

The Candidate
We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a passionate and driven English, Intervention, and Reading Teacher to join our team. If you have a love for English that’s both infectious and inspiring, paired with deep subject knowledge, we want to hear from you!
We’re looking for a teacher who:
* Delivers English with confidence and ambition, driving continuous improvement in teaching and learning practices.
* Promotes exceptional standards of student engagement, achievement, progress, and behaviour.
* Has a passion for igniting students’ curiosity and love for all areas of English, from reading and writing to oracy.
* Believes in the transformative power of storytelling, literature, and creativity to foster students' personal and academic growth.
Your role will include:
* Designing and implementing a dynamic reading curriculum for KS3 to elevate reading across the academy.
* Delivering engaging curriculum reading lessons at KS3.
* Providing targeted English interventions and tutoring for selected student groups to enhance progress and attainment.
* Planning and resourcing impactful intervention and tutoring sessions.
* Teaching English lessons across Years 7–11 as required.
