Location: North Lanarkshire, Scotland, hybrid working available. This this role will involve both field and office work.

Control System Project Engineer role:
• Oversee control system migration projects, coordinate with subcontractors, client operators, and asset management teams to ensure successful design, implementation, and verification of project requirements.
Control System Project Engineer responsibilities:
• To minimise migration risks, clearly define the project scope and select the best strategy.
• Support projects involving C&I system upgrades or new control/PLC development.
• Review proposals and present technical comparisons to management and clients.
• Ensure contractors deliver on time, on budget, and to spec.
• Identify and communicate technical project risks to the project manager and stakeholders.
• Review proposed technical solutions for compliance with customer specifications.
• Document technical issues, solutions, and lessons learned throughout the software delivery cycle.
• Hold knowledge of process safety, fault analysis, and reliability assessments using FMEA, FTA, LOPA, HAZID, and HAZOP.
• Lead development of Commissioning plans and HAZCOMM meetings.
• Identify issues early and escalate to the project manager to agree mitigation measures.
• Prioritise Health & Safety, conducting required Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
Control System Project Engineer requirements:
• Engineering degree or equivalent experience in control system migration for process, water, or utility industries.
• Proven leadership in delivering control system projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, experienced in technical reporting and client interaction.
• Ability to understand customer needs, lead technical discussions, and communicate effectively with delivery teams.
• Able to meet tight deadlines while ensuring safety, quality, and engineering integrity.
• Health and Safety & First Aid qualifications (desirable).
